There are many ways to enjoy panoramic views of Barcelona, but one hidden gem is seeing the city from unique vantage points inside museums. With Articket, you can explore museums that offer not only artistic treasures but also stunning views. Take a moment to pause, breathe it all in and enjoy – the city itself is a masterpiece.
MNAC: A Postcard-Perfect Barcelona
If you’re after a sweeping view of Barcelona, make your way up to the MNAC. From the steps of the Palau Nacional, the city stretches out like a living model: Montjuïc’s fountains, Avinguda Reina Maria Cristina, the Venetian towers and, in the distance, Tibidabo standing watch over the entire city.
Inside the museum, don’t miss the rooftop terrace, where you’ll be treated to a 360° panorama – some of the most spectacular views in the city. It’s all included with your Articket pass, from Tuesday to Saturday (10 am to 8 pm), and Sundays and public holidays (10 am to 3 pm).
Fundació Joan Miró: The Tranquillity of Montjuïc

From the terrace of the Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona feels different: more peaceful, wrapped in greenery, beneath clear skies, with a tranquillity that encourages you to take a deeper breath. It’s the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle and rediscover the city from above with a slow, thoughtful gaze. This year, there’s an extra reason to visit – the Fundació is celebrating its 50th anniversary! The perfect excuse to go up and be captivated by the art, the architecture and the views that, like Miró’s work, never fail to amaze.
MACBA: A Unique View Over the Raval

Want to see Barcelona from a fresh, completely new vantage point? Sign up for MACBA from the Sky, a new guided tour taking you to the museum’s rooftop, where you can enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the city. From this elevated viewpoint, the views over the Raval, the Gothic Quarter and Montjuïc are unparalleled, providing a new perspective on Richard Meier’s architecture – and the constantly evolving city around it. Available for €15 with prior booking on Fridays and Saturdays, at 11 am in English, and 6.30 pm in Catalan and Spanish.
CCCB: A Viewpoint to Discover Barcelona with Fresh Eyes

The CCCB conceals one of the city’s best-kept secrets: the Sala Mirador, on the fifth floor. From this glass-fronted room, you can enjoy impressive views of the sea, Ciutat Vella, Montjuïc, Tibidabo and Collserola, as if looking at a living postcard.
This viewpoint is open one Sunday a month from 10 am to 8 pm and on special dates, with free admission. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover a new way of seeing Barcelona from the heart of the Raval.
Museu Picasso: A Calm, Contemplative Perspective on Medieval El Born

The Museu Picasso isn’t about height, but about depth: the depth found in its Gothic courtyards, stone balconies and windows overlooking the cobbled streets of El Born. It’s a place that draws your gaze inward – to the architecture, the details and the atmosphere. A space that invites a slow, contemplative look, much like the one Pablo himself might have taken.
Here’s a little secret: before going in, take a moment to admire the museum’s impressive façades. One of these, the old Casa Mauri, features a unique element in Barcelona – an 18th-century wooden lattice window known as a “xafardera”, designed to offer privacy while allowing someone to observe (just as we do now) without being seen.
Museu Tàpies: A Unique View of Modernisme

The Museu Tàpies building already offers a unique view from the street. Look up and you’ll see Cloud and Chair, the sculpture by Tàpies himself that seems to float above the historic Modernista building. You can also visit the museum’s terrace during opening hours, where striking views open up over the Eixample’s interior blocks, including another of the artist’s works: the famous giant sock.
On 10 July, enjoy a picnic on the terrace and explore the current exhibitions with your family. This event is organised in collaboration with El culturista for a different kind of summer afternoon.
